The brand has opened an immersive exhibition showcase in the department store’s replica Fine Omega Watchmaking Room
Omega replica watches is in the happy position of having two mini-boutiques in the Harrods Fine Watch Room, and has just converted one of them into an immersive exhibition space – or what it’s calling a “pop-up concept space” – that’s currently unique within its stores worldwide. The first display, which has just opened, is a glossy, educative look into Omega’s most high-tech advancement, the Master Co-Axial Escapement.
The Master Co-Axial is the latest twist in a story that began in 1974 with the invention of the friction-free Co-Axial Escapement by the great British horologist Dr George Daniels. This revolutionary design was eventually acquired by Omega, has been refined and developed down the years and is now used throughout the brand’s in-house movements. Omega’s latest innovation is the addition of spectacularly powerful magnetic resistance, under the title Master Co-Axial – the standard bearer for this technology being the Omega Globemaster unveiled at Baselworld in March, and coming to shops later this year.
Alongside the Master Co-Axial showcase is a historical display, with a visual wall that selects key moments from Omega’s past – you know, small moments like the first Replica Omega Constellation watches worn on the moon, timing the Olympics, being worn by James Bond…
There’s also a screen showcasing Omega’s technology via a selection of videos, while a famous Omega replica watchmaker’s microscope is on hand for Omega’s resident watchmaker to give customers demonstrations of the Master Co-Axial tech.
