Out of the blue, Omega today debuted the Omega Seamaster Edizione Venezia replica watches, a stylish, retro-inspired take on the Seamaster, offered in a highly elegant 39.5mm case, crafted from either Omega’s proprietary 18k Sedna gold or… yes, stainless steel.

On a personal note, the 40mm-wide De Ville Trésor has been probably my favorite modern Omega: it’s classical, restrained, and under-the-radar, but, with its curvy case and dial, it’s plenty interesting for a dress watch. Plus, its Master Co-Axial Chronometer movement delivers all the goodies Omega can engineer into a movement today… So what exactly is the matter with the Trésor? It’s not available in steel but exclusively in – very pricey – gold of different types…

…Which leads us to the Omega Seamaster Edizione Venezia, a new Seamaster that offers comparably beautiful and restrained styling in a classical 39.5mm case, a METAS-certified Master Co-Axial Chronometer movement (now an automatic over the Trésor’s hand-wound), and refreshingly, it does come in Sedna gold and steel. And, if you hadn’t guessed already, there is, of course, a story to go with it as well.

Omega says the idea for the Seamaster’s sea horse logo came when one of Omega’s designers visited Venice and saw the gondolas adorned with this fascinating animal – he liked the possible connection with it and the Seamaster and, since 1957, the Seahorse emblem has been associated with this collection.

While self-proclaimed Omega red leather strap fake watches historians will certainly know of a few vintage Seamasters from the mid-1900s, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that most Omega fans and buyers today think not of a vintage dress watch when they hear the word Seamaster. Yet, this new-for-2017 piece shares numerous design elements with Seamasters of old, reminding everyone that the Seamaster has not always been about chunky, sporty, and colorful. It goes to show that, if you think about it, not only is Omega itself a very versatile and complex brand, but even its collections can be a bit all over the place sometimes.

While you could consider this another 60th-anniversary tribute, I think the new Omega Seamaster Edizione Venezia should really just be left alone to be what it actually is: a heavily vintage-inspired, retro-looking dress watch, something that’s been missing from Omega’s  limited edition replica watches table for some time now. The Globemaster is available in steel but is more modern in its design, even if it is not without its own vintage-tribute details.

When talking about the use of ceramic in watchmaking, Omega has to be mentioned. In 2013, it launched the Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” which, in my mind, should be considered one of the most important watches in recent history. By then, ceramic had already been widely used and adopted by the watchmaking industry, but the Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” took ceramic and used it almost everywhere – save for the movement. The entire case, crown, pushers, buckle and even the dial are made out of ceramic. Since then, Omega has been experimenting with ceramic in more ways, and new Seamaster Planet Ocean “Big Blue” Omega watches UK are the latest ceramic creation.
If you think about it, the use of ceramic in watchmaking makes sense. If you have a watch made out of more typical materials like stainless steel, gold, or platinum, chances are it is a little scratched up. For people who don’t like scratches, this is a problem. Enter watches with ceramic cases. Because ceramic is so strong and resistant to scratches, it is virtually scratch-proof. In other words, ceramic watches are more likely to stay scratch-free and maintain their pristine look.

The new fake Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean “Big Blue” is the latest full ceramic watch from Omega. In essence, it is a blue version of last year’s Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black collection watches , but the highlight here is the blue ceramic case. Omega says this is the first time they have done a watch entirely in blue ceramic.
Like the Planet Ocean Deep Black watches, the new Seamaster Planet Ocean “Big Blue” is made from a single block of blue ceramic. The bezel, crown and even the dial are all made out of the same blue ceramic material. This is a big watch, measuring 45.5mm wide and just under 18mm thick, but because it is made out of ceramic, which is substantially lighter than stainless steel, it should feel light on the wrist. Water-resistance is a formidable 600 meters, and there’s a helium release valve. In other words, this is a serious professional dive watch.

The blue ceramic bezel Omega replica watches UK features minute markings filled with Liquidmetal and the first 15 minutes of the bezel is filled bright orange rubber so it stands out against the blue ceramic bezel. There are orange accents elsewhere too. The blue ceramic crown, for instance, is signed with a bright orange Omega logo, and the blue ceramic dial is surrounded by a GMT track in the same bright shade of orange.

The GMT hand is also bright orange. I’m really fond of the orange and blue color scheme. It looks fun and it is also practical since the two colors contrast brightly. Finally, the hour, minute, and seconds, as well as the hour indexes, are all made out of 18K white gold and filled with white SuperLuminova.

For 2013, Omega fully rounds-out the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra series replica watches UK family with the new Omega Aqua Terra Chronograph GMT. With a new movement and solid looks, this is the semi-formal sport watch in the Omega Aqua Terra collection to lust after. I had no idea that the Omega Aqua Terra collection was so beloved until aBlogtoWatch viewers started to ask en masse a few months before Baselworld 2013 whether or not Omega was going to insert their newer in-house made Caliber 9300 automatic chronograph into an Omega Aqua Terra model.

The question was reasonable as Omega is making a point to replace all watches with non in-house made movements with in-house made movements. Especially in their higher-end collections such as the De Ville, Planet Ocean, and Aqua Terra. So I waited for Baselworld to find out. What I learned is that not only will Omega release an Aqua Terra with an in-house made movement, but that it will also have a GMT complication. This is all part of the new Omega Caliber 9605 automatic movement.

Essentially, the 9605 is a version of the 9300 with a GMT hand in one of the subdials. Though, this really rounds out the design. When Omega released the caliber 9300 movement in 2011, the idea was to have an exceptional in-house chronograph that was modern in every way, have a column wheel, silicon parts in the escapement, and be useful. It uses two subdials for the full 12 hour chronograph. This puts two hands in the right subdial, which measures both the chronograph hours and minutes.
In the 9300, the left subdial was for the running seconds. In the caliber 9605 you have a GMT hand in there as well. Now the two subdials are better balanced with two hands each. This also upgrades the utility of Omega’s in-house movement to offer that extra feature. A chronograph with date and GMT hand is a wonderful travel watch. Omega  best replica watches also needed something to compete with Breitling’s Caliber 04 movement. I have a feeling that the 9605 is every bit as impressive as the 9300 in terms of accuracy and utility. We still don’t have a quick set feature for the date, but otherwise this is a damn useful automatic movement.
